Dr. Lyudmila Grivtsova is a distinguished Russian medical scientist specializing in clinical immunology, immuno-oncology, and hematopoiesis research. Serving as Head of the Department of Clinical Immunology at the A. Tsyb Medical Radiological Research Centre – branch of the National Medical Research Radiological Centre of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in Obninsk, she is also a Professor at the Department of Morphology, National Research Nuclear University. A graduate of I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, she earned her PhD with a thesis on subpopulations of hematopoietic progenitor cells used in autologous transplantation and high-dose chemotherapy in cancer patients, followed by a Doctor of Sciences thesis on differentiated prognosis of stem cell transplantation in oncology. Her scientific career spans key roles at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, where she progressed from Junior Researcher to Senior Researcher in the Haematopoiesis and Immunity Laboratory. Professor Grivtsova’s research encompasses immunophenotyping of acute leukemia and lymphomas, tumor immunology, stem hematopoietic cell biology, mesenchymal stromal cells, regenerative medicine, and tumor radiobiology. She has authored more than 200 scientific publications and holds 18 patents of the Russian Federation. Her notable works include studies on azoximer bromide efficacy in respiratory infection prophylaxis, therapeutic dose delivery for inhalation radionuclide therapy in COVID-19, innate T- and NK-cell immunodeficiency, neutrophil NETosis mechanisms, recombinant interferon-gamma antitumor effects, and cellular immunotherapy development in oncology. She also contributed to molecular biological diagnostics of malignant and neurodegenerative diseases using immunospecific profiles of hematopoietic stem cells and studies on lymphoproliferative disorders of the head and neck. A member of the editorial boards of Oncohematology, Hematopoiesis Immunology, and Clinical Oncohematology, and of the Association of Oncologists of Russia, Professor Grivtsova stands as a leading figure in Russian clinical immunology and translational cancer immunotherapy research.
