Mr. Longyu Zhuang | Power Electronics Energy Conversion | Best Researcher Award
Lecturer at Liaoning Petrochemical University | China
Dr. Longyu Zhuang is a distinguished researcher and lecturer specializing in pulse power technology, high-voltage pulse equipment, and solid-state pulsed power systems. He earned his Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Nagaoka University of Technology and Science under the supervision of Professor Weihua Jiang, where his thesis focused on the development of high-power pulse generators based on saturable pulse transformers. He holds a Master’s degree in Safety Science and Engineering from Henan Polytechnic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Material Forming and Control Engineering from Fujian University of Technology. Dr. Zhuang’s professional career includes roles as a Research Assistant at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, working under Co-Advisor Jie Zhuang on the development of high-voltage nanosecond pulsed electric field tissue ablation equipment, and as a Lecturer at Liaoning Petrochemical University in the School of Information and Control Engineering. His research contributions encompass several national and industrial high-impact projects, including the compound high-voltage ultrashort pulse electric field system for prostate tumor ablation, the development of high-power thermal plasma therapy equipment, and the creation of advanced nanosecond pulse systems for solid tumor and cardiac ablation. He has collaborated with prominent organizations such as GIGAPHOTON Corporation and SENSO Corporation on next-generation extreme ultraviolet pulse generators and plasma pulse sources for environmental applications. Dr. Zhuang’s academic work includes influential publications in international journals, notably on solid-state pulsed power generators based on Blumlein PFN using saturable pulse transformers, solid-state Marx generators employing saturable transformers and fast recovery diodes, and feedback control techniques for linear transformer drivers. His ongoing research continues to bridge innovation between electrical engineering, plasma science, and biomedical technology, establishing him as a rising figure in the advancement of modern pulse power engineering.
